Canine Coach Group Training Class Policies & Agreements

Canine Coach, Inc. will make every effort to provide a safe environment for the care and training of my dog. However, I understand that I am, and will remain, responsible for the actions of my dog at all times. I understand that attendance of a dog training class is not without risk to myself, members of my family, guests who may attend, or my dog. Therefore, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Canine Coach, Inc. of any and all claims of injury, expense, cost, or damages caused by the actions of my dog while under the care of Canine Coach, Inc., or while under my own care, as a result of following training instructions.

CLASS RULES: Please come to class on time, with the required training equipment, to include:

  • A treat bag containing a variety of small, soft, tasty treats, and your dog’s favorite small toy.
  • A flat buckle collar, a no-pull harness, or a head halter; no correction collars will be allowed.
  • A 4-to-6-foot leather or nylon leash; no chain or flexi-leashes will be allowed.
  • A clicker (provided at the orientation).

ILLNESS: Please notify your trainer if your dog is not feeling well or is exhibiting any of the following symptoms, including, but not limited to; vomiting, diarrhea, runny nose, eye discharge, coughing, sneezing or lethargy. You may attend the class session without your dog to stay current with your class. Private make up sessions for missed classes may be scheduled for an additional fee.

CHILDREN: All family members are encouraged to attend and participate in class. Children are welcome, but due to safety concerns, children under the age of eight must be accompanied by an adult other than the parent primarily handling the dog.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS: All dogs under four months old must have their first set of vaccinations at least 72 hours prior to attending class. All dogs four months old and over must have at least two Distemper combinations, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccinations at least 72 hours prior to the start of class. Canine Influenza vaccination is recommended. The state of Colorado requires us to keep an updated copy of your dog’s vaccination history on file, therefore, documentation of vaccinations given is required. (See Vaccination Requirements)

PAYMENT/CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY: Payment is due at least 24-hours prior to the first day of class. NO refunds will be given once the class has begun. In case of emergencies, refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and under certain circumstances, to be determined by Canine Coach, Inc., a full or partial refund may be permitted. A refund processing fee will apply.

WEATHER POLICY: In the event of bad weather, please check for an email notification of canceled classes before leaving home. If you cannot retrieve your email before class, please contact your trainer for confirmation. You will be notified of make up options for any class canceled due to bad weather. Sometimes Colorado Springs weather can vary from one side of the street to the other – if class has not been canceled but you feel unsafe driving to class, please contact your trainer to let them know you are not coming and they will arrange a make up time.

VIDEO/PHOTOGRAPHY WAIVER: I give permission for Linda Brennen and Canine Coach, Inc. to use photographs and video of myself, family members, and my dog(s) taken during training lessons, classes, and at Canine Coach, Inc. sponsored events. These images may be used for advertising and marketing or educational purposes, both in print form and on the internet, for the Canine Coach website or Facebook page.
